Anyone know what the life span is of Neons, and other tetra's? I am just curious what you could concider 'good' for keeping fish.. because mine never live that long and I don't know if it's me or what it is.

Well kept you can expect a couple of years for the typical tetra. Some live much longer but 2-3 years would be a good average.

The (alleged) life-span of a Neon Tetra in captivity is up to 7 years.

The similar, but slightly more colourful Cardinal Tetra can last up to 5 years.

They are pretty hardy little fish if your tank is treated against infections etc.

2 years is the average but have known some to live much longer if the tank is maintaned well, they do jump so make sure a lid on your tank with a mild filter with moderate bubbles.
