Does anyone find it funny that Democrats used to be conservative and Republicans were more liberal?

Not FUNNY at all.
It serves to illustrate how distorted our system has become.
John Kennedy was more conservative than George Bush.
He gave us the largest tax reduction (in per cent ) we have ever received. Then the economy boomed - which always happens when tax breaks are permitted. Then the government receives more revenue than ever.
Conservative classically means "one who conserves".
Forget "neo-cons". A Conservative believes in change. Slow, thoughtful, careful change designed to improve life.
Change the constitution with VERY great care.
Use the environment sensibly. The environment should be conserved, not preserved. Don't be wasteful.
Teddy Roosevelt was a Republican and started the National Park System to preserve those areas of the environment that SHOULD BE preserved.
Change should improve our quality of life.
Change is a fact of life and cannot be prevented. Stagnation would result. (Preserving implies NO CHANGE.)
Today Liberalism seeks to change everything without thought about the consequences.
That is a risky and potentially deadly philosophy that must be eliminated.
Change based on EMOTION instead of THOUGHT is foolishness.
If someone asks "How do you feel about that", be very suspicious. THINK don't emote.
