I'm talking about *metropolitan* areas--not just the cities themselves. For example, while Denver, Colorado is somewhat moderate, the surrounding suburbs (about 75% of the metro area) are very evangelical and conservative.

Here's my list:

Conservative

1.) Nashville
2.) Boise
3.) Colorado Springs
4.) Denver
5.) Phoenix

Liberal

1.) Detroit
2.) San Francisco
3.) Portland, OR
4.) Boston
5.) Seattle

What do you think of my list? What does your list look like?
