congrats on quitting! i think you will be fine from here on out, but just let your doctor know. i know people who were too weak to think of their babies, and continued smoking all the way through, some of the babies were fine, but most had low birth weight and asthma. at least you are trying and i think you did an amazing thing for your child!

I dont think any damage would have been done so early on lots of women don't find out they are pregnant until a few months in. Well done for quitting keep up the good work. Congrats with pregnancy i'm busy trying for baby number 1 fingers crossed xxx

First of all, congradulations. Second of all, kudos to you for quitting. By NOT smoking through the rest of your pregnancy you are ensuring that your baby has plenty of oxygen from your blood to develop properly. You are also allowing his/her litlle liver to grow healthy and free of toxins. Consider doing an herbal detox, but make sure it is ok with your OB doctor first. Drink lots of water to flush out the toxins from your own body and you will come out of pregnancy with a healthy baby and a healthy body of your own. The woman's body heals itself during and after pregnancy and it discharges toxins during the birth.

You should feel very good about your choice to quit.

Don't worry about any damage that was done, just think positively about all that you are doing now to ensure the health of you and your baby. Your attitude will help create a positive environment for the baby so be peaceful and do all you can to stay healthy.

i think the damage to babies in utero is from the continuous and long term exposure to the poions oin the cigarrettes- so No I dont think any long term damage is likely and the fact you quit is the very best thing for your unborn baby becuase now he/she can grow along with the supporting organ-the placenta-can grow properly w/o any reduction in oxygen-When a woman smokes the oxygen supply to fetus is reduced The placnta doesn't nourish the baby as well because it never grows properly either-smoker's babies are smaller and placenta is smaller. Good for you Do NOT go back-look to the future now!

well we all know smoking isn't healthy for you and the baby i had 2 children and smoked with both i'm not saying i'm proud. but the good thing is you quit so you decreased your chances of having birth defects. as the months go on and the ultrasounds will tell you if anything is wrong physically. but i think you'll be ok and keep your stress levels down thats not good for the baby either. well good luck with your pregnancy.

You could have done damage but the important thing is that you stopped. Keep it up. I wish you luck. And I also hope that you stay off the nicotine after you have your baby.

Congrats and good luck.

No one can tell you for sure, but the fact that you stopped is wonderful. It will decrease your risks of having a low weight baby and/or a premature baby.
