DNA or deoxyribonucleic acid separates by unwinding and each chain acts as a template for a new nucleotide chain. That replication. Transcription- that is the process which genetic info is copied from DNA to RNA. and translation- that is the process of assembling polypeptides from info that is encoded in the mRNA. That's all what they are. you know you are lucky that i read dictionaries.

1. Replication = copying the material of DNA to make two DNA molecules
2. Transcription = copying a section of DNA by matching up RNA nucleotides to DNA's bases. This makes a strand of mRNA.
3. Translation = using the information from mRNA to build a protein. tRNA brings the amino acids in the correct order according to mRNA's codons.

DNA strands (double helix's) split and the TRNA copies half of it and sends it to the (something)RNA and it fits teh otr pcs onto it ("a" goes with "t", "c" goes with "g")
so if u had a single helix (half a dna strand)
and it was attaccgatcagt
the otr half would be taatggctagtca
and tht makes a full helix (a full dna strand)
i hope i made it clear enuf... :\
