Its 02 and the clear coar is chipping off.

Just so you know Country wax and polish will not fix chipping / peeling clear.
Have you owned it since new? not very common for factory clear to pleel and or chip. Sounds like a shody repair job. To just clear the car depends on the brand of paint used. the whole car just clear might be $600 to $1,000. Just so you know they are not going to just clear the car. They will paint and clear it. Cant just clear over old stuff as it will show any blemishes in curent finish etc.

How old is your car? The last 12 - 15 years clear coat is standard fare on new cars. You wouldn't accomplish anything paying someone to do it again.
Use the Mothers: #1. Pre-wax cleaner.
#2. Paint sealer.
#3. Pure Carnuba Paste Wax.
You will get a "Drop Dead " long ( 1 yr.) perfect wax job.

I am thinking of buying a car that has clear coat off of hood , and a few other places , how much to just have a hood done
