You can't beat a day when its not yet light and its snowing, and the bins and gates are all frozen. Heaven!

You may have asked this for a laugh. I'll give you another take on it. In Dublin, at the moment, there is a campaign against bin charges which we deem to be a double tax. We wont pay so the council wont empty our bins. At first, we ran behind the trucks and threw our rubbish on. They have now made this illegal. I have always recycled but now its imperative that I do.
The hardest thing to get rid of is cooked food waste. I have to cart it down to friends who have 'waivers' ie, don't have to pay.
It is not easy. Truly, for a little while, at least, if they fixed up this bin tax thing fairly then putting out my bin in the morning WOULD be the highlight of my life. At least until I got rid of my backlog. But, WE SHALL OVERCOME!

No my husband does it. Like Penny though I have a neighbour whose highlight of the week is bin day. My husband always misses out on this spectacle but my young son and I sometimes watch, his curtains start twitching at about 7am, he then starts to visit people who have not put their bins out, sometimes he will go into their back gardens and get the bin himself (we saw him leaving with something up his sleeve on one occassion), he then comes out and stands and watches the bin men empty the bins and he then puts all the bins away because he doesnt like to look at them and assumes that we wont put them away for a while.
We recycle but had trouble with flies from food waste so we fitted a waste disposal and it is brilliant and has really reduced our waste in the bin and the bin is free from flies.
