I have been taking tri-norinyl for 7 years non-stop. My husband and I decided that we wanted to have a baby so I stopped taking it 6 months ago. I have not yet gotten pregnant, but I am having a BAD case of uncontrollable acne. I have large, painful pimples on my face, back and chest. I have done everything I can think of to help this, including acne washes, scrubs and creams.
Is there any reason why I haven't gotten pregnant yet? I'm scared that the pill affected my fertility.
Also anyone have any suggestions about the acne problem?

I should also probably add that I am 23 and I have a regular 28-29 day cycle.

I doubt the pill affected your fertility. 6 months is actually about average for someone around 30 years old (less if you're younger, more if you're older). It may just take you a little longer than average, that's all. But after 6 months of trying, I'd talk with your doctor about it. He/she may be able to recommend some things, or may tell you to chart your temperatures or something like that. Maybe even run some tests.
As for the acne, I'd see a dermatologist. I have acne still (at age 33, blah!!!) and I wash my face twice a day and use stuff that has salicylic acid in it (from Clinique), which helps, but I still get big zits sometimes. Here's something you probably don't want to hear - women who get acne due to their monthly cycles tend to get bad acne when they get pregnant. I was pregnant (only for 7 weeks though, then I miscarried) and had *terrible* acne.

Your ovarian follicles, are probably not maturing beyond the thecal stage. The result is no ovulation, and excess production of testosterone. The excess testosterone is causing the acne, and of course, no ovulation, no pregnancy. The condition is sometimes called PCOS, i.e., poly cystic ovarian syndrome, or functional hyperandrogenism.
Since this syndrome is, at least in part, insulin driven, a very strict, low carbohydrate diet, like the "South Beach Diet", may help. The medications often used are metformin, flutamide, and finasteride. Flutamide and finasteride, two different types of antiandrogens, may produce severe birth defects in a male fetus, and therefore should not be taken during pregnancy. Saw Palmetto, a non prescription, "herbal antiandrogen", may be one of your best bets. However, I don't know what effect it may have on a fetus. I wouldn't recommend taking it while pregnant.
I suggest, you follow, a strict low carbohydrate diet, exercise and generally take care of yourself. I suspect the acne will go away, and menses will become regular. If you don't see improvement, you should see an endocrinologist.

What you need is Maca Root. Not only will you get pregnant after taking maca but your sexual desire will increase. I know this firsthand because i was just like you. Maca also helps get rid of that huge ugly acne that appears on the face that takes long to go away. Go to www.peruvian-maca.com and see the benefits, your husband can use them too. Doctors are now prescribing maca to patients with hormonal and HRT. Imperial Gold maca is another good brand. Maca is really a superfood.

Might i also suggest you cleanse your body. Do a colon cleanse. parasite cleanse (you may have no idea how important a parasite cleans is), liver/gallbladder cleanse, kidney cleanse, heavy metal cleanse, for more info do a search on these cleanses and you will see how important it is to do. See how many parasites are living in your body.

It's hormonal. Many dermatologists will prescribe birth control pills for women who have acne becasue it controls their hormones. Yours are all out of whack because you went off the pill. Talk to your doctor.
