Most definitely. Playing it involves striking mallets against different angled surfaces, hammered in place to produce varying pitches. I don't know if you've ever heard pan (steel drums) before, but I would say that its sound vaguely resembles a glockenspiel or xylophone.

When several of them are played together, all I can say is "mmmmmmmmmm...."

of course. anything u use to make music can be an instrument. ive seen people make beautiful songs from conch shells!
