Honestly I think Pac Man's punishment should also include a three year probahation period once he is allowed to come back.So if he decides to do something stupid then he will know he will have to face some serious consequences. That is the only way he is going to learn. His gotten in trouble too many times and he is lucky no one died in his Vegas incident or else that would have been the end of his career or maybe he would have pulled a Ray Lewis. Also remember this is a guy that said the NFL needs more "thugs". As far as Henry I think his punishment is good because remember he was also punished by the coach. But i dont know what he was thinking for being alcohol for some underage people knowing that people know his in the NFL. Hopefully he learns. I think the NFL needs to have stricter rules. They should have at least an 8 game suspension for player found guilty of a felony and 2 game suspension of any player found guilty of a misdeamnor with the exception of traffic tickets.

I think their suspensions are too long. The NFL knows that their cases are all over the media, so the NFL wants to make an example out of them. The length of their suspensions has more to do with the fact that their cases are all over the media than it has to do with the bad stuff that these players actually did. They are being punished for the public having a bad opinion of them, they aren't being punished for the things they did wrong. The NFL is overreacting to make it seem like they're tough on crime or whatever. I think both players deserve just about half of the sentences they got: 8 games for Jones and 4 for Henry.

Yes, and I think they are lucky they didn't get suspended longer or banned indefinitely. Pacman Jones and Chris Henry are embarrassments to their teams and to the NFL. They need to understand that it is a privelege to play in this league, not a right, and that their actions off the field are detrimental to their teams and making the rest of the league look bad. Good for the NFL for finally taking action against these players. This shows Henry and Jones, as well as all other players in the NFL, that the NFL means business and will not tolerate any more of their criminal shenanigans. They should take similar actions against Tank Johnson.

i'm very much in agreement that these guys should be punished. the lengths are going to be up for debate just because some may think Pacman's offense was worse simply because someone was shot. if you ask me, being arrested 4 times is also good reason for a year suspension. sooner or later these players have to learn that they have a greater responsibility than to just themselves. they represent the league trademark...whether that be NFL, NBA or MLB, it doesn't matter. they have the privelege of getting paid very big money to play a sport, when millions of others can only dream about it. if there's going to be any hope of reducing the number of conduct issues, and making the players stand up and pay attention, the commissioner had to make an example of these guys. besides that, they got what they deserved.

Henry had two more charges than Pacman ithink they both should get 1 year but boht of them are dumbasses, when you have money and you're in the NFL Why do start fights(APJ) why do you give minors drugs and alcohol (CH). A league of dreams for football loving kid. THese guys destroy the reputation and their support, all they are doing are hurting themselves.
I'm just glad Roger Goodel is taking charge of this issue that they NFL has been facing over the years.

I think that if ANY player of the NFL is charged with a felony, they should be released for the rest of the season. PERIOD! If they're arrested in the off season, they should sit out the up and coming season. If it's half way through the season, 14 game suspension. Maybe the thought of losing out on MILLIONS will keep these guys in line.

Absolutely. It is high time the league and the NFLPA (Gene Upshaw, so far, backs the decision) decided to come down on flagrant rule breakers and problem players. This decision tackles (no pun intended) two problems. One-it shows Roger Goodell is indeed a proper replacement for Tagliabue, and two-it shows the rest of the league that such infractions will not be tolerated. For those who will cry "foul," in the fact that Jones has yet to be found guilty, just remember; MOST employers instill the "at-will" status.

I would've given Jones a 20-game suspension (not including preseason and postseason, which means Jones wouldn't be able to play in any such games until his 20-game suspension was complete) and Henry a 1-season suspension.
