It’s just another pathetic example of the ME generations over concern with words and labels. Pluto is Pluto. The International Astronomical Union reclassified Pluto as a Dwarf Planet because of the growing number of planetoid sized objects being found. I don’t hear anyone crying “Oh God! They reclassified Ceres! It’s not a Dwarf Planet, it’s an asteroid!” Grow up people.
Besides, if you have read any Douglas Adams, you would know it’s the White Mice who really run the show.

The definition of "Planet" was decided upon by several scientists in a vote at the IAU (all hail). A petition will not likely change anything, especially by a non-sentinent species that lacks the ability to do such a thing.
