What do you think about giving $59 Million to Palestine when that money could be used right here? Why is it that congress is quick to spend money overseas to increase “diplomatic relations” by greasing the pockets of upper government echelons and their families? We have no way of verifying how they spend our money. Do you have time to do it, cause I don’t. I would bet a dime to a dollar that the biggest misappropriation of our tax dollars comes from foreign aid. It is one thing to send food, medicine, and clothing. It is a completely different thing send money for them to purchase things themselves. Why do they need our money? They should work a deal with some of these sub-prime lenders instead in international business. If we are going to contribute it needs to be like a franchise type of thing, where we build a business or industry in an area that helps them help themselves without draining our tax dollars.Every day I meet a new homeless vet, it makes me sick.

Does they seem hypocritical to anyone else? To wage war, then not take care of those who fought it, while sending money to those who instigate?

Compared to the billions we give Israel, this is chump change.

Because in the USA people are really rich...They have charities and many other sources that can take care of the homeless vets...In Palestine it's chaos, there are no charities and most of the people had already purchased houses but got destroyed by the Israeli Gov't, and the rest of the people are homeless. So who do you help...A wealthy government with some homeless vets that can be taken care of, or a country that has its people butchered everyday?

That is nothing compared with the dollars that the USA uses to help Israel, and the billions to finance the war in Irak or wherever necessary. All that money goes to keep an international order that helps the American companies to get money from the rest of the world to keep your standard of living.

59 million
Hate to equivocate, but why have we given billions to Halliburton and Bechtel to support a friggen illegal war? Why is Bush quick to spend more overseas to increase death and destruction and so on and so on.
and "We" aren't sending the Palestinians a thing compared to the billions "we" are giving to Israel every year and will continue to give until we use some common sense and stop it.
=================================
you realize of course that there is a distinct difference between "millions" and "billions".....yes?
=======================
why aren't you petitioning the government to take care of its own? Or is it that you know darn well they don't really give a rats behind.

Why give 2.5 billion per year to Israel? Especially since we know their money goes to things like dropping a million cluster bombs on innocent civilians in Lebanon, firing a million bullets at innocent Palestinians in the occupied territories. This money also goes to torture of innocent people, land confiscation, water confiscation, destruction of agriculture, industry, and homes belonging to innocent Palestinians, and prevention of medical care - and generally to rid of as many Palestinians as they can in territory they took by conquest (aka ethnic cleansing). I think that 2.5 billion would be better spent on health care for our veterans, or for any other American.

What happens to the Vet's is shameful but the biggest misappropriation of funds is Haliburton. That's Bush and Cheney's cash cow. In the first couple of years they skimmed their money off the top and sent our soldiers to work with no truck or body armor. Shameless capitalist.

I agree, same thing with the presidental candidates who have raised over 4 million dollars a piece to run for president. Why don't they use that money for homeless or less fortunate or retirement or whatever.

I think it's hypocritical for us to give over 1 BILLION a year to Israel in the form of military hardware. Israel instigates most of the violence, and then acts surprised when the terrorists attack.
Frankly speaking, both the Israelis and Palestinians have repugnant governments and idiots for leaders. I think everyone would be well served if Israel withdrew to the 1967 border, allowed for the establishment of a Palestinian state, and we stopped messing with either side...they need to work this out.

Yeah. We seem to give more money to other countries than we do to help ourselves. We have home less vets. are schools are in poor shape. no national health care. But if we stop giving money to those countries than they start to whine how "greedy" we are.
