Get a paper route

You have certain legal restraints on what you can and can't do (in the UK).

A paper round will get you some extra cash if you don't mind getting up early in the morning and having a mad dash in all weathers before going to school.

You may be able to help out in various retail outlets on a Saturday, but to be honest most people don't like employing children as they can't have a job that interferes with schooling, pay for under 16s is pitiful, and employers are terrified of being sued for huge amounts if the young person has an accident.

But if you don't ask, the answer is "No". So get out there and ask anyone who you think might have work that you can do if they have a job going, or if they know of anyne who may employ you.

No matter how much you have lost, hang on to your dignity. It is better to be poor and proud than rich and a total idiot.

Good luck, though I have the feeling that you are the sort of person who will make his own luck - and do well.

Hi there, I don't know what employment law is like in the US but in the UK I think the earliest you can work is 13 doing newspaper delivery to peoples houses. Maybe have a look into that to see if thats a possibility?

Or how about asking on a market stall?

You should really be concentrating on school though at the moment but if you are really determined how about calling a recruitment agency to see if they can give you any advice?

Sorry I cant help anymore, good luck :-)

I don't know what your circumstances are , but I commend you for your willingness to work .
I hope you are still attending school because a good education will bring in money for your needs in the future.
I started working at 10 years old- delivering newspapers, selling religious materials, cutting grass and caddying for golfers.
I recommend that you go to the nearest exclusive country club and ask to be a caddy. You would be surprised to learn how much you could earn as a hard working young caddy.
Good luck to you.

This kid who's making fun of you is probably just doing it because he finds it fun and doesn't realize it upsets you. If he's calling you a lesbo, first of all, there's nothing wrong with being a lesbian, and secondly, as long as you know that you aren't one, it shouldn't matter. I can understand you being upset by this, but you and your friends know its not true. Besides, he probably says this about a lot of people. And as for him calling you a sl*t, again, you know you aren't one. You should just try to remember that you have friends, and those are the people in your life that are important, not the ones who cause trouble.

Try to explore writing for some websites. If you study hard you can succeed. If you been hurt speak with someone in your school, church, or DCFS.

When I was your age; I created a lawn service, paper route, and helped the elderly by running errands for them. If you explain to them what is going on you would be okay.

jus walk in with your head high and say.....' good morning/evening my name is -------- i was wondering if you had any jobs or errands you would like me to do.....i am trying to earn some extra pocket money for my ----------' if they decline they will usually say 'no sorry' which isnt that bad if you are shy go when it is quiet and no one is around or you could try calling them up.Now GO TO BED you are still growing and need your rest or you will never get to puberty!!!! Good luck xxxx may i just point out that it is scary that you are sounding so desperate for money at such a young age,if you are in trouble tell someone you love and trust dont keep it inside ok xxxx

Are you in the UK? Have a look at this website, I don't think you are legally allowed to work.

I'm sorry things have been hard for you, if you are in some sort of trouble, speak to someone you can trust, a teacher or relative. Hope things work out ok for you xx

I'm 24 and need a career. You can have my job!!! Sign of things to come I think.

Seriously, clean cars...paper round....you need to get up the courage to ask people for jobs, I have learned they never come looking for you, and most employers appreciate the confidence you possess!
