I was at my grandmothers house and there was a man who had dark hair and was very unfriendly but somehow related to the family- maybe as a friend???? I was very uncomfortable in his presence . Everyone was trying to leave the house to go out for the evening and I was running late but told everyone I would be only fifteen minutes behind them and to go ahead. I went downstairs to the room that in real life was mine for a time, and as I am closing the door, I saw the man coming down the stairs. He is going very quickly and with purpose. I attempted to slam the door and lock it and he burst in. I had a pair of black pants on that I was trying to zip up at the same time and he ripped them off of me and threw me down. At this point it became very, very real. I saw and felt him enter me as if I were actually being raped. At that moment, I stopped fighting because it felt like it was too late and the damage couldn't be undone. I woke up after that. Help me figure this out. Scary!

No, I haven't been raped in real life ( yes to sexuall molestation but was a child and have been through therapy and emotionally resolved in this area); I am at my present age in the dream; I don't know the man but feel all the time like he is very hostile towards me; in real life I am married....

I have never had fantasies about being raped or dominated. This was completely foreign to me, coming out of nowhere.

A very scary dream to be sure, and I am quite certain that your sexual molestation past has something to do with it, but that will be dealt with later.

First off, strangers who seem 'related' are usually aspects of ourselves/our lives that we are not very comfortable recognizing. Thats why they seem both familiar and strange at the same time. Depending upon what they represent, their uncomfortableness dictates how long we have been ignoring what it is they mean to us.

The family leaving for the evening ahead of you suggests that the problem you are facing you are doing alone, or feeling as if you are doing it alone, or have to do it alone. Thus, when the 'intruder' comes downstairs, there is no one to help you fight them off.

Most dreams usually offer a mixture or cocktail of problems that spin and respond off each other. Thus, while this dream might be about the causes of your affair or the stresses in your marriage, it also might be a way for your mind to continue to cope with your sexual molestation.

What sexual assualt tells the victim is that they are 'helpless', not only in terms of their bodies but in terms of their lives. If you cannot stop someone from doing what they want to your body (whether by touching or some other means) which you have the most control over, then it becomes very difficult for the person to believe that they have any control in their lives whatsoever.

So the dream could very much be telling you that the current situation in your life is making you feel as helpless (or worse than helpless) as the molestation. Believing in your dream that the damage (of the rape) could not be undone could signify many different things: the damage of yoru past, the damage of your affair, the damage to your marriage, or any combination thereof. Even those things which we believe we are 'over' can still reappear in our lives quite suddenly and quite powerfully, especially if the meaning of the event bears some significance upon our life at the moment. So, to have such a dream with such a history as yours is not uncommon in the least.

Even in dreams where we are 'forced' to accept something inevitable, the acceptance is not meant to mean a complete surrender of ourselves. Instead, acceptance and integration of 'painful' facts is part of how we fight them. Just as we don't give up the memories of our pleasures when we get older, so too we can't give up, put away, or deny the pains we have experienced either. Our pains motivate us as much as our pleasures do.

The 'event' cannot be undone, but the damage certainly can. It is the belief that it can't be fixed that is the damage. The 'intruder' sounds like it is trying to get you to 'fight', to say that it is never too late. The intruder wants to be stopped, but it needs your help to do it, and if it takes dragging other people into the 'dream' to do it, so be it. Try imagining, after such a dream, having your entire family suddenly pop out of the closet and beat the holy sh** out of the guy (or whoever you feel is the most caring and protective of you.)

Just because you felt 'alone' in the dream doesn't mean you have to be.

I can't see where you've distinguished if you're male or female. You're avatar makes you look male.

Males have been known to be raped too you know. How did 'he' enter you?

What's the worst memory of your grandma's house? Maybe something freaked you out when you was so young you've suppressed a memory.

Any family members that you know of that has been disowned by your folks or other family members?

Have you, or do you have fantasies about rape? Believe it or not, people have fantasies that defy logic. If you do, be honest with yourself.

Could be the dream doesn't mean a thing. Your mind just brain storms with no reason while sleeping.

You were dreaming, or having a NIGHTMARE..? I've had the same nightmare but nothing bad happened to me in life... I don't know why it happened. You might have seen something on TV about someone getting raped. I was told that dreams are like our brain sorting files into new file cabinets, and when each memory is moved, something related to that pops into your dream.

were you your present age in the dream or were you older, a child? this dream could be a premonition of something that could happen in the near future, it could be a repressed memory trying to break free from your subconscious, or something that has happened to someone else in your family and you have picked up on it by some sort of esp. i wish you the best for finding out.

This can mean you have some anger against the opposite sex. It also might mean you feel violated in some way. Something or someone is jeopardizing your self-esteem and emotional well-being.

It was probably a realistic dream. Reassure yourself this, because there is actually no mental damage if it did happen and you just don't remember it. I'd prefer that. At that, look at your genitals. See anything? No? You're fine.
