it depends what you are interested in doing. for example do you want to work in fast food in the heat of summer? i wouldn't. its an awful job.
what about jobs in the neighborhood? there are probably parents who have primary school aged children who will be looking for babysitters. do you think that is something you would like?
do you like baking? offer to bake muffins for your neighbors. years ago a friend of ours offered to bake 'breakfast' muffins for people. make a flyer up something along the line of:

no time for breakfast? enjoy a healthy muffin every morning on your way to work! i can deliver six fresh baked 'breakfast' muffins delivered to your door once a week.

make sure your muffins are healthy and make up flyers and deliver them to all the homes in your neighborhood. make them interesting so they catch people's eye before they get thrown away. if you know the names of your neighbours then put the flyers in envelopes with their names and addresses on each envelope, they are more apt to pay attention to that than a flyer. if someone shows an interest then offer them a free muffin to try! figure out your cost for making them and add a little extra for your time! gee, i'd pay someone to do that for me!
hire yourself out as a jack of all trades. do up flyers offering to do gardenwork, walk dogs, run errands, wash windows, light housekeeping.
many seniors don't need full time help but do find it hard to do some chores around their homes. ie: vacuuming, washing windows, weeding gardens on a weekly basis. or they may need someone to run errands for them, or sit and read to them if their eyesight is failing.
while many working parents already have daycare they may need help around the house after work. perhaps they need someone to take the kids to the playground, or swimming. or maybe they'd prefer to have someone help with the housework so they have more time with their kids.
many single people have dogs, for companionship and security reasons, but don't always have the time to walk their dog, or wash their dog. and many don't have the time or the desire to 'pooperscoop' their own backyards. so hire yourself out to wash, and walk dogs. and to pooperscoop yards. believe me, people will pay to have it done! they just need someone to offer!
also do up a flyer offering to wash and detail vehicles for people right in their own driveway! in our end of the world people pay over twenty-five bucks to have their car washed as well as the interior cleaned and vacuumed. and they take the car to the carwash to have it done. if you offer to do it in their own driveway they may be very interested.
offer to clean out attics, basements, garages. just make sure your parents approve and that everyone knows that your parents know where you are at all times. your parents may feel better about all this activity if you have a cell phone to keep in touch with them and to call them if there is a problem.
there are lots of ways to earn money, but keep in mind you are still a young teenager and adulthood and all the responsibilities will come soon enough - so leave enough time to enjoy your summer holidays!

i've heard chick-fil-a hires at 14, but i'm not positive. just look around town, go in and ask for applications and see how old you need to be to work there. if not, check out a local church. i'm sure they always need some help. try to babysit even more its honestly the best money you can make. no taxes get taken out or anything. jobs like chick-fil-a and things like that probably wont get you as much money as you'd like. so definitely keep up with the babysitting and other various chores and what not.

It's tough finding a job when you're 14 in most states. When I was 14 I worked in a library, putting away books and checking people out. It was good because it was air conditioned and I got paid well for something that took very little skill. Other than that you could go with the old standards of babysitting, mowing lawns, selling lemonade..
