If you mean the smallest bird egg, then that is (logically enough) produced by the smallest bird. The Mellisuga Hellenae hummingbird produces eggs less than a millimetre long and 0.2 grams in weight (link 1).

If you mean the smallest egg of any species... well, those get really, REALLY small. The smallest sea star egg, for example, is so small that it's hard to measure its size: about a hundred millionths of a metre long (link 3).

Compared to that, insect eggs are huge! The smallest insect egg is produced by a parasitic fly, the Zenillia pullata. It's about two hundredths of a meter long (link 2). You could line up several hundred of those sea star eggs along that span!
