I do this every summer. I know, I know, the whole stay out of the sun thing, But, if you get a really good tanning bed lotion, usually sold at the salon, you will really notice the difference.
So, start out with 3-5 minutes the first 2-3 times, and if you don't feel the itching or buring sensation by the 3rd time, go up to 7 minutes the next 2 times, then 9-10 minutes, then 11-13 minutes, until you have worked yourself up to the full 15 minutes. But at anytime at all that you feel the itching sensation, you have burned and need to rest for at least a day. It is kinda like working out, you have to build yourself up.
Now, if you follow this with a good accelerating lotion, you will be a beautiful golden brown.
I have the same skin tone and this is what I follow every year.
Maybe even use an accelerant with a bronzer in it. This will make you look darker than you actually are. The downfall is that you have to really make sure it is rubbed in and carry baby wipe with you to wipe of your knees, elbows, palms, tops of feet and toes, where they might appear orangy.
So, if you don't want any extra hassle, just use one without the bronzer!

Yes but work up to the full time SLOWLY!!! Start off 5 minutes for the first three days or then move it up to 8 minutes then so on but when you do move up and you feel like you are getting too much turn the bed off. I dont suggest you use any tanning accelerators until your skin has a little color or you will BURN. Just be smart about it. Hope this helps

Tanning beds are disgusting. If you're going to tan at all you should do it naturally in the sun. The theory about base tans are a myth, if you burn easily you can still burn if you have a base tan. Also, you're much more likely to get a sun burn in a tanning salon than outside because of the concentration of the rays. Besides, I know in New York you have to be 18 to tan without a parent's permission.

yes, but work your way up to 20 minutes in new bulbs, I would start out with 8 with new bulbs in a facial so your face doesn't burn, and switch to a single

Please, be careful in tanning beds. They really do cause skin damage. They do not warn you of it for no reason. Try Jergen's Natural Glow. Much more safer.
