This may have occurred in my case.

I was working for an Attorney up until a month ago. He sacked me, and said that one reason was that he didn't need a fourth body in the office (twas a small practice). Hark- I called him today, and this chick who is apparently new there answered the phone.

Now, either he sacked one of the other employees and supplanted them with this new girl...or he blatantly lied to me. He also said that he couldn't afford to pay a staff of four- and, again, if he hired this new chick, he was lying to me.

On the other hand, if he sacked one of the other girls, and brought in this new girl to replace her, he may not have been lying to me. Maybe he lied to spare me from the truth about his reasons for firing me. I don't know.

It's quite hard to say, I know- but what is your opinion? Do you think he was lying to me then?

Crap. No wonder people hate lawyers. I guess they really are liars for hire. *Hocks up loogey to discharge upon any lawyers nearby

Dear Catlaw,

Well, I must tell you, you were incorrect about one thing. This new girl could not possibly be being paid less than what I was. He was paying me 5.00 an hour.

The average paralegal salary in my state is 28K to 32K. I am not sure what it breaks down to mathematically, but I think it's around 15 or 20 dollars an hour.

As a lawyer I too have been lied to by other lawyers, by clients, and even by the plumber. Lying is not limited to one profession. Being of a particular religion does not mean that the person won't lie.

The new females that were hired may be getting a lower salary than you did. Females in the legal field usually are paid about 75% less than males who do the same job. Perhaps the females hired are law students or pre-law students who are interning (work for experience without pay). Perhaps the females are independent contractors who pay their own benefits (insurance, etc) for a small salary and the legal experience. Any of these could be correct, which would mean that your former boss did not lie.

If you want to know why you were terminated, you need to speak with your former boss and ask him if there was anything lacking in your performance. Tell him that you want to improve for your next job. No negative lawyer comments, no accusations of lying, just a professional conversation about what you need to improve.

that's continually at the same time as they weren't somewhat religious, yet nonetheless had the god idea interior the decrease back of their concepts. someone or some journey were given to them and somewhat of searching significantly at it that they'd only positioned the onus on their chosen deity. yet another common party are the theists that "insurrection" adversarial to their god for the period of puberty and change decrease back at the same time as they're older. those type of ex-atheists usually spout nonsense about atheists being indignant at their god or desirous to stay a life in sin. and then there are the cases of the very elderly who conflict through from ailments, memory complications or are only immediately up being lied to. Anthony Flew is a good party for the disgusting manipulation finished to such human beings.

Everyone lies regardless of professions. I've been in the same situation, laid off from a job with others only to see months later that it is being offered again.

It's not worth bothering about. Learn what you can from your experience there. Arm yourself with that knowledge when you enter into your new job.

Call the firm back and pretend to be someone else and ask for yourself and see what the answer is. Then call again as someone else and ask for the another employee and see what is said about them. He probably lied and brought in a niece or cousin that needed a job. Keep a log and see if you have a case against him.

If there is a heaven and I was there the only one I would believe is a christian is god. Some of the lowest people I have ever met called themselves Christians in the hopes you wouldn't find out who or what they really prayed to.

well, first off, it sounds like you don't have enough information to accuse anyone of anything. heck, maybe it was his wife or daughter who answered the phone because he can't afford to pay for an employee. maybe he fired two people (one was you) and that girl replace the both of you.

and since you work for an attorney, it would behoove you to be thorough in your work, which you aren't as shown by this half-baked question/accusation.

so you accuse him, persecute him for his Christian faith, and then to top it off, you spit on him...wow...i'd like to fire you too!

Who cares. Find a new job and move on. Stop dwelling on things you can't control.

He probably did lie to you and just told you he couldn't pay a fourth person to not hurt your feelings. Then again he may have fired one of the other people and hired someone else. IDK go back to his office!
