when i was a teenager my mom bought me those rubbermaid mini drawers to hold all my make up and stuff. i now have a set in almost every room in the house as they work great for keeping the small stuff contained. get a hamper for your room and instead of dropping clithes on the floor to pile up and step on just stash them away in the hamper. as for papers and other odd stuff spend a day going through your clutter and get rid of the things you no longer use, including clothes and makeup. (or get a set of plastic drawers at walmart to file junk in when you dont have time to de clutter) also if you have a small room move your hamper (and the drawers i mentioned) closer to the door and your bed farthest from the door and everyday as you are leaving your room you can pick up clothes and stuff on your way out.

I bought my son a "Responsibilty Chart" (I think it's made by Melissa and Doug, but you could certainly make one of your own) that has different magnets with all kinds of different responsibilities, from feeding the pets to helping Mom around the house to setting the table, no fighting, cleaning your room, etc. There are also some blank magnets that you can use if there are specific things you want to work on. We change the magnets every week and select the various chores/behavior issues I think need to be focused on, and at the end of each day, we sit down together and talk about what magnets he has earned for the day. By the end of the week, if he has done a good job in all of the areas, he earns a special treat (nothing big--just a car, a trip to Bruster's for an ice cream, or something like that). Just make sure that you are choosing chores that are age-appropriate for them. Both children should be able to pick up their own toys, for example, but the four year-old might need a hand making his bed.

do away with all the clutter and junk. Make things simple, taht way you can just run your arm over the dresser and it is dusted.
always put something away before you get something else out. It just takes a little getting used to.
You might set aside a certain time period everyday to clean, like instead of watching TV take 10 minutes and clean you room.

well to start you can make tsure that you hrow all of your dirty clothes into the hamper that way you dont have to worry about dirty clothes everywhere also after your clothes are washed and clean take the time to put them away in your droors that way it is easier and much cleaner when you are looking for clothes doing these two simple things will make a big time difference in the long run

keep a basket in ur room for dirty clothes and when u take them off make sure it hits the basket.
when u kick ur shoes off, kick them off into the closet.
i personally wouldn't worry about making the bed, just sleep on top of it and it is always made
good luck

I have a teenage son and I'm always telling him, put away whatever you are through using, that way things won't pile up. Why don't you give it a try, it might help.

just put something away whenever you are done using it before you get out something out and you won't even have a chance to get your room messy. and make it a point to sweep or vaccuum frequently so that you have to pick things up regularly.
