the average dead jobs are useful and can be beneficial, but avoid the dead-end "commission" jobs like the plague!
1. you are being paid, so you are eating and sleeping indoors
2. you probably have no responsibility and can relax while being paid
3. you probably can get away with crap that a high-paying job would never allow, like sleeping or hiding to avoid work
there are times in everyone's life where a little "gerbing" might be nice...like after a leaving a high-stress job, retiring after years of competition in the rat race, after a divorce, after leaving the military...etc.

Yeah some people that work at dead end jobs, may not have the education to advance. Also people who work dead end jobs cannot take the time to look for another job or have the money to get an education. But I think that any one who really wants to get a better job should try and do everything they can to advance.

The best way to always have a dead end job is to keep on taking lousy positions... start looking straight away. Of course, don't leave your current employer.
There are a lot of dead-end jobs that don't have to be (maybe not in your case). I think that most employers would welcome an employee's suggestions on how to make his job better... not necessarily higher pay, but you can gain experience needed to take the next step in your career.

Dead end jobs are what you accept. If you take a look at the market and are willing to go where the money is you are free of this cycle. In Canada for instance working in the oil industry is very financially rewarding. Find the area, develope the skills and go there.

There are a lot of dead-end jobs and a lot of people seem to prefer them, maybe because the level of responsibility and engagement is limited. For individuals who don't really want to get involved, maybe these jobs are just fine.
If you're in one and dislike it, figure out what it would take to move into a job with opportunities. Generally, education is part of the answer, but always, the level of engagement and commitment must be higher to achieve growth.

stay at your job, but go looking for a better one and get it, before leaving the first job.
