I'm sorry but you are just wrong.
In September 2006, scientists from NASA, Columbia University and elsewhere published a paper on climate change which shows, among other things, a graph of the Earth's temperature over the last million years or so. You can see a bunch of glacials on this chart. You can see that the temperature is now becoming hotter than since the end of the last glacial. With just one more degree Celsius of warming, it'll be hotter than ever in the last million years.
Temperatures over the last 1.35 million years
http://math.ucr.edu/home/baez/temperature/temperature.html#1.35Myr
Note this timeline is not to scale! According to this study, after warming up 0.2° C per year for the last 3 decades, the Earth is now the hottest it's been in the last 12,000 years:

The question isn't if global warming is happening. The question is if Humans are the prime cause of global warming, and what, if anything, can we do about it.
People seem to think that global warming is a man caused event, and it isn't (though it can be influenced by man). Global warming is caused by a multitude of factors, including the sun, compounds in the air (not all of which were put there by man), particulate levels in the higher atmosphere, and other items that we may not yet fully understand.
Where I become concerned is that it seems that there is alarmist thinking about global warming. People are making absurd claims that are not backed up by science. You are seeing the "volcanologist" of climate science, meaning that most of the public and private funding in the climate science area is going towards global warming, and as such, that's where most of the scientists are heading as well (much like volcanologists and geological studies).
This can lead to absurd claims and theories in order to get funding. Funding pays the bills, and puts food on the table.
As for a statement above that stated "you are not there during the Vikings", and the other one regarding tree rings, the actual data is obtained from ice core data, which has a range of potential values. By taking the mean, scientists are stating that back in the 1000s, it was warmer than it is now.
To finish up, your statement regarding the natural warming period and people's specific IQ's is a bit misleading. I would state that people are motivated by fear and, to a degree, greed while advocating Global Warming. It is this fear that we should be questioning.
Indeed, "Do you believe in Global Warming?" is now the same question of "Do you believe in Christ?" (Spanish Inquisition).

Global warming is a joke. Tell the renowned scientist Barbra Streisand to go back to acting.
Back in 780 AD, Greenland was so warm they grew crops and had a large variety of livestock, both of which would not be possible.
NASA has confirmed that Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, and Pluto all have global warming right now. It is a simple increase in solar radiation. Maybe someone from NASA should give Al Gore a call.
THIS GLACIER DIDN'T EXIST 7,000 YEARS ago. And that was after the Ice Age. "A few thousand years ago, there were no glaciers here at all"..."Back then we would have been standing in the middle of a forest"

Wrong.
It may be a natural warming period, but human activity is making it worse. And no, it takes more than an IQ of 55 to figure this stuff out. I know you don't want to put any effort into thinking about it and learning the facts, but that doesn't change them.

Not to mention the fact that the Cleveland Indians have been snowed out. Here in North Carolina it got below freezing over the weekend. North Carolina, people! Al Gore, you take that global warming crap and shove it.

Protecting "Big Oil"
Hmmmm - Democrats are brilliant!
They can attack the largest contributor to the GOP - Exxon, Texaco and all the other big oil companies. You know, the guys that lowered the price at the pump during the elections. The guys who receive the better end of Bush's big tax breaks to large Corporations.
One good turn deserves another. Bush helps them to make big profits and they help the Republicans get votes.
What better way to indirectly attack Big Oil and the GOP than to create Global Warming and take the winds out of their sails!
Brilliant!

so... all those scientists don't have an IQ over 55? even though they are WELL AWARE of normal heating and cooling trends... they say they think it may be man made?
yeah... I'm sure you're the genius here and all the scientists are the stupid ones...
NOT TO MENTION... temperature and social records from the year 1,000 are always flawless... right?
and wouldn't global warming be occuring on EVERY SINGLE planet, if it was the sun? instead of just like half of them?

Just because the Earth goes through cycles does not mean that humans are not contributing to changes in weather. Do you honestly believe that we can pollute the crap out of our planet and nothing bad will happen? Do you feel like we are making this a better place for your offspring? Compare the estimated rate of species extinction now and then and you will see that something is not right.
