For centuries, men have been violating, degrading, and abusing woman, using them as nothing more than sex objects (or worse). Rape, sexual assault, 'date rape', verbal and physical attacks, emotional exploitation and browbeating women into submission in their "macho" world is nothing new - it's just much more pronounced, accepted, and tolerated today.
So the big news isn't what Imus said. It's what the American media and entertainment industries have done to poison our society toward women - and, in the process, have also (unfortunately) debased men.
