been playing for 8 years.. I can play something as technical as Tears in Heaven fairly well.. bar cords are no problem.. looking for something new to play.. I know lots of chili peppers, collective soul, jason boland, cross canadian, Clapton, Stevie Ray and similar groups already.. looking for something different.

Try some Days of the New off of there 1st album. Or "what it's like" by everlast or everclear. Try some of the incubus acoustic versions they are pretty tricky. Try Pardon me the chords are really strange and hard to remember, their other acoustic songs include mexico, stellar, drive, and a few others.

The Barenaked Ladies have alot of alternative rock songs that can be play either way, though most are acoustic.
The Proclaimers, Boston, and REO Speedwagon are some of my other favorites too.

'Riki-tiki-tavi' by Donovan is quite fun, and it's a good rhythmic lesson, as well.
'In My Life' by the Beatles is one of my personal favorites.
And for a cool alternate, try doing 'How Will I Laugh Tomorrow When I Can't Even Smile Today' by Suicidal Tendencies.

I always enjoyed when friends would attempt to play metal songs with the acoustic guitar. Maybe that would pose a new challenge for you.
