How many of you are too stupid to know that not all Democrats are liberal and not all Republicans are conservative? By definition, stupid people will contradict my point, but there's most certainly a surfeit of such people on Yahoo! Answers.

You can call this a rant - that's fine with me. I'm just wondering if anyone else is as sick as I am of the idiots who delight in dividing everyone based on the most falsely simplistic of criteria.

Looks like our girl "Dumb American" lives up to her name. Wonder if she'll figure out that she doesn't know the meaning of oxymoron.

You've mistakenly thought that the partisan hacks who infest this part of Yahoo Answers would answer you. Not a chance. Since I already know that I am stupid (at least, according to the other hacks), I have no issue with responding here.

Actually, I am sick of the idiots, push questions, no answer answers, etc... Usually, there are a few people that are looking for real answers - that's when the hacks attack en masse. Other questions, should I choose to answer them, are purely for my amusement. People don't seem to understand the nuance of politics on this site.

BTW - big thumbs up on surfeit. Remember - stupid people won't be able to understand that word.

Put it this way, Liberals tend to think of society as ideal and push to do the things that would make society "perfect". They want everyone to make the same amount of money, no one to be impoverished, and there be universal healthcare. Unfortunately, that isn't the case. That's an IDEAL society. Generally, Conservatives tend to think of things a little more realistically, but do often go about asserting ideas the wrong way. The whole gay marriage thing though isn't even up to the federal government to decide so it's pointless for them to argue about it. It's not outlined in any part of the constitution for congress, the president, or the supreme court to make any decision. Just like abortion shouldn't have been left to the federal government and should have been left out, but those are just examples. Conservatism is more of a you do your part, I do mine. We leave each other alone mindset. Liberalism is a let's help each other and everything is okay mindset. Typically. Regardless, think, don't just join sides. It's easy to tell where I lie, but like I said, sides don't matter. Vote on issues, not people.

Robin Hood was a Liberal but not a Democrat and he didn't believe in abortion, but didn't hate toward gay people, but wasn't sure about gay marriage. He didn't support the war, but served in the military and on the front lines of the war, didn't believe in global warming, but voted for Bill Clinton (regretted it later) and didn't vote for George Bush (the first time and regretted the second time).
Wait this sounds like me not Robin Hood and I guess I'm not a liberal or conservative. Is there a group for me? I'm so lonely.

You are totally right!

example of Liberal Republican - McCain (will never vote for)
example of Conservative Democrat - Zell Miller (would vote for in a heart beat)

Then there's the leftist loony Democrats like Hillary, Obama, Kennedy, Edwards, etc..... I like the right wing Republicans!

Zell Miller is a DINO.

Labeling and compartmentalizing the political process by party lines in this country only serves to keep We the People from working together properly to solve our problems and work towards our future. Partisan bickering and mudslinging never solved a goddamn thing; why do people think it's going to change this election?
