I want to major in accounting and I'll go for my CPA and I just need to know is it worth going to the bigger name schools and having major debt for career placement and opportunities, if the CPA puts everybody in the feild on an even standing?

As long as you are going to an accredited university then you are fine. Obviously it is cheaper to stay in your home state and go to the university there. No out of state tuition fees. Just make sure that when you take the CPA exam you know what you are doing and get an excellent score. That does level the playing field. Good Luck on your choice!

Some of the reasons for going to the big name universities is that their reputation can assist you in placement for graduate degrees and for jobs.

I went to a no-name university to get a degree in business, because of the size and make up of the class I graduated top of class. The price was right.

For my jd I selected the big name college. I thought that the prestigious place would have better placement for jobs with the alumni. After graduation I found out that alumni are not as loyal as what 'big name' said. At least in the legal field, the reputation and alumni connects means little.

My advice is find a school that you are comfortable with and you will shine.

It rather relies upon, college would be a very relaxing time the place you meet numerous folk and with a bit of luck get a physically powerful education into the coolest purchase. If somebody have been to question me for advice i'd advise going to college yet picking the path wisely. i understand of numerous folk who enrolled in courses they knew little approximately, did no longer rejoice with and did no longer cause them to employable. it rather is important elect a course which would be alluring to ability employers, and which will benefit you in the long-term. we at the instant are not giving human beings fake desire, it rather is often a physically powerful concept to greater your wisdom, even if if i will thoroughly understand why you ask the style of question while there are maximum of graduates working in call centres etc.

It's not the name of the school which is important. It's the schooling you get: what YOU put into it, your dedication and your love of the field: if it's a passion, you're in. If it's "a job", then you're wasting your time, no matter where you go.
