They both share a hatred of liberals as well as the seperation of religion and the state.
TEHRAN, Iran - Iran's hard-line president urged students Tuesday to push for a purge of liberal and secular university teachers, another sign of his determination to strengthen Islamic fundamentalism in the country.
With his call echoing the rhetoric of the nation's 1979 Islamic revolution, Ahmadinejad appears determined to remake Iran by reviving the fundamentalist goals pursued under the republic's late founder, Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini.
Ahmadinejad surprised his conservative backers in April by deciding that women could attend soccer games, but Khamenei didn't agree and the supreme leader's view prevailed.
Shortly after the Iranian revolution, Tehran fired hundreds of liberal and leftist university teachers and expelled many students.

Hey,
I said very much alike, not exactly the same. You cons have to ask yourselves. Why is christianity today no longer like the christianity of the Dark Ages.
Because christianity has been totally LIBERALIZED, SECULARISED, and FEMINIZED!
That's what Islam needs, not more conservatism.

Fundamentalism has been the scourge of mankind for millenia, no matter who espouses it. Based on purity and intolerance for others and their views, it always breeds conflict, death and destruction.

The conservative white trash that reads this and doesn't see the similarity should go rent the movie "Jesus Camp" or go talk to a Rapture believer.
If they still don't see the similarity, they should all gathered up and immolated for gross negligence against society.
The notion of "God" has never been anything more than a tool for the socially and intellectually retarded to obtain political, economic, personal or spiritual entitlement without putting forth any effort to obtain those goals. Its all an over-grandiose form of wishing and if nothing comes from the wish, then it just defaults to a lack of religious faith. The same is true for any religion, and the objective morality these monotheisms spew do nothing but stripmine society. Its only natural that the religious politicians would seek to get rid of every single liberal minded person in a position to teach or promote a better method of understanding.

very much of distinction. you merely condemned 0.5 the human beings on your united states of america. You people who talk like this are merely as ignorant because of the fact the "Christian Conservatives" you so like to attack. You hate the human beings of your individual united states of america and pigeonhole them each bit as much as you're saying all of them pigeonhole the Muslims based upon one guy out of 320 million people who someway desperate burning the Koran would be a physically powerful concept. study your individual question and tell me that isn't genuine. Bigot. You every person is the biggest hypocrits in the international. Bigots appropriate to your individual historical past, your individual united states of america, putting 0.5 the rustic right into a pigeonhole. enhance up. you will pass to any length to stand up for the the terrific option of each and each individual yet your fellow countrymen with whom you disagree. That makes you not greater advantageous than you have desperate they're. look in the mirror. you do unlike faith. Do you get a medal for that? Does that make you specific? study your individual crap and notice the style you sound. upward thrust above the Nazi's.

It is not just you. I think your question is going for a dramatic attempt to make your point but many people above me don't interpret it that way. You made your point below your question. And your point was not about killing people, etc. it was about separation of church & state & also aobut progressive thought.
In their defense you did use the word Terrorist in the question which people associate w/killing. What I find ironic though is that there are conservative christians who are known as terrorists and murders. What about Timothy McVay (sp?) What about the "christians" who bomb health clinics w/people inside b/c the clinics give abortions? There are many more "killing christians" b/c there are crazy murdering people of all faiths. And that isnt taught in Left-wing liberal colleges by anti-american professors! SMH at the idiot that said that. How much does that person sound like the Iran guy from the article you posted? It is commen sense that people kill & many use religion (any religion) to justify their actions.
But your question was not about murder it was about separation of church & state & about hatred of progressive thought. Which so many proved you are right in your comparsion w/their closed-minded answers.

Iran has many problems including a nutjob terrorist president. Give them credit for the firing of liberal leftist teachers, that should happen here. Start with Ward Weaver.

Yep your right, just the other day I saw Pat Robertson cut the head off an infidel.
Are you Bi-polar? I mean sometimes you write a good question and then you write something like this.
Extreme Left and Extreme Right are bad, but to equate "Christian Conservatives" (you infer "all") with some radical elements in an Islamic country is just ABSURD.

Wait a sec. I don't have a problem with liberals who don't want to believe. I don't think a national religion (like in Iran) is proper, either.
If anything, rights to prayer in public are being suppressed. Sounds more like Communism every day. Thank the ACLU for that.
Quit spewing rhetoric.

That's like comparing Nazi's to the liberals. There are similarities in their respective political stance, but come on, they are not in the same neighborhood let alone the same ballpark. Wake up.
---
And let me add, religion can be a very constructive thing in this world, and a very damaging thing. It becomes damaging when the people become fanatics, quickly and easily swept up by the religious propaganda they are fed. That is when religion becomes dangerous, and action needs to be taken to prevent all religious fanaticism, be it Christian, Islamic - pretty much any of them.

Here's a scary thought. A new scroll is found in the Dead Sea area. Jesus and Mohammad were brothers the Christians and Muslims join forces and become one religion writing legislation for billions through the word of god Mohammad. Talk about terrorism.

You need to stop it NOW. Unlike terrorists, Christian Conservatives DO NOT go around KILLING people who disagree with them, much less even SAY anything to those who differ. That Ahmadinejad is labelled "conservative" in his nation bears no likeness to what we define as conservative in the USA. Please, your argument has NO substance; it sounds rediculous enough coming from Rosie, and really poor regurgitated by a hateful twit on Y!A Politics. You have NOTHING.
