Excellent question!
As far as I'm concerned which section one would look for it in would depend on ones belief. For the the religious person, in the religious section. The historian would look in the the history section and the scientist would no doubt not even be looking for it unless he was religious or also an historian. And for the person looking for a looonng complicated read ... the fiction section.
This makes me wonder if people actually go to the library to look for the bible. I would imagine most people would think of going to a church instead!
Perhaps it should be categorized as a book that belongs in each of these library sections. This would probably cover all the bases. ; )

Definetly the religious section. Secondly I would choose history, but since it is ot believed by everyone, it's not fair to call it history, putting it in the science fiction would be offensive to those who live by the Bible.

Well if you put the Bible in the history or science fiction you will also have to put the Coran and all international religious stuff. because how can you said this one is religion, this one is history and this one is science fiction without upsetting people?

It should be in the religious section of course. Technically it doesn't matter which section it is put in, as all material in a library is catalogued so that it is easily retrievable.

In the library the bible should be put on the edge of religion and history and therefore falls into both catagories

Well definitely NOT science FICTION because it IS NOT fiction. ok? If I were the librarian, I would put The Bible in BOTH sections, because it is a relegious book. Also, it has very HISTORICAL events.

for people who suggested 'neither', it is going to be suggested that the Dewey Decimal device is barely for non-fiction, so if that's put in the two hundred's below faith interior the Dewey Decimal device, then that's in non-fiction. alongside with the Koran, the Rig-Veda, the e book of Mormon, etc., all in 'non-fiction'. in all probability adequate to make your head spin.
