I was thinking about getting a baby picture frame that can be engraved with the name, birthdate, pounds , ounces, etc. at things remembered... does that sound really good?

i like being a little original. why not try getting her a camera with a photo album. if you cant afford an expensive camera, buy her a throw-away so she can save those precious moments. and photo albums are forever ..

or get her a diaper bag and put a little bit of everything in it for her . a small toy..one outfit..lotion, bathing supllies, diapers, socks, blanket, onesies, etc. that makes for a nice gift also.

or if you just want one item to last a long time.. buy her a high chair..that is good from about 7months of age till about 3 or 4 years old.

this is coming from a mom 4 times...

I used my Boppy Pillow for the entire first year of both my daughters lives, because I nursed, but even if baby is bottle fed they are still great to support baby while she drinks her bottle. Baby can use the pillow for tummy time (very important), then baby can sit in it while she is learning to sit up too. I got a Bare Naked Boppy with a separate cover that unzipped to come off and go in the washer, which was nice, because I could still use the pillow while the cover was washing. They're great!

I also used the Diaper Genie for several years. They are the best for sealing in diaper odor, no other pail works as well. And baby is going to be in diapers for the first year for sure, so you know mom will use it for a long time. Through in a pack of diapers (make sure you get size 1 or size 2, because most babies outgrow the newborn size very quickly.) Speaking from the viewpoint of a mom, it's nice to get a gift that will last a long time, but it's really great to get diapers too, because they save you money.

If this is the expectant mother's first baby, take a look at the Sampler Diaper Cake at DiaperCakewalk.com! She'll love it!

Hi, how about a personalized baby memory keepsake book? You can have the book personalized with the baby's birthdate, weight, length, mommy, daddy, hospital & doctor's names, friends and relatives, etc. Go to this website http://www.tlc-expressions.com They also have lots of other titles like Sesame Street, Teddy Bear Land, Three Little Pigs, Mother Goose, Sports titles and so many more. Check it out - they're very reasonably priced, and make a wonderful & unique gift... Good Luck!

This sounds silly....but give the gift of music. I love music and have a stereo in my girls' room and it has been there since my first daughter was born. We dance everynight before bed. It is the highlight of my day....dancing and listening to music with my girls.

If you have the money....get a nice stereo that is small (a bookshelf system would be good). Make sure it has a radio AND Cd Player. You may even want to buy a CD of momma's favorite group and daddy's favorite group. PLUS get the Baby Einstein lullabye CD and a relaxing heartbeat CD that will help keep baby asleep!!

Hope this helps!!

That gift sounds nice.....just an idea but it can get costly.....

Buy a diaper pail...
Buy The alphabet ....
Tie string to each end of the alphabet on the opposite end of the string place items starting with the letter. Lay the letters on the outside of the pail and have the person pull them out one by one A-Z.

Example: A- buy an aspirator
B- Bottle, or bib
C- Condoms, (this one is always causes a laugh),
Q- Q-tips

You get the picture...useful items and a lot of fun.

Anything personalized makes a good keepsake for a new baby. Your idea for an engraved picture frame would be nice. You could also get her an embroidered blanket with her name on it. You could get her a little bracelet or necklace with her name engraved on it. The possibilities are endless.

Make a baby book for her... Cover a photo album w/ pink/lace and fill it w/the pillow stuff, glue it down on the inside and cover a piece of cardbd w/same fabric glue that over your fabric from the outside to cover up seams... glue a photo frame to outside of the photo book covered w/same fill and fabric... then you can get crafty w/ data to be saved on inside...like gluing an envelope for the first hair lock..etc., and come up w/same cute sayings for all... Fun for you, Mom will love it, and the baby will too when she can appreciate it... EMail me if you need detailed instructions or I wasnt clear enough --:)

Good grief, nobody has mentioned to see where she is registered for gifts she has already stated she needs or would very much like! Ask her mom, her sister, even ask her!
Then you will have a slew of choices at all price ranges and somewhere in there, something you are happy to give.

Your idea sounds great. Not too many people give that kind of gift. It is something that they will see all the time and know that it is from you everytime they look at it. Good thinking.

Don't know if this is the best gift...but I've given unique picture frames and a disposable camera and received compliments.
