Static is caused by a lack of moisture in the air. It always happens in the winter across most of the country. I've lived in NY, CA, TX, PA, and AZ. The most effective way to get rid of it is to invest in a humidifier. They come in many sizes from 1 room to whole house that attaches directly to your heating unit. You can find the smaller ones at discount dept. stores and larger ones at home improvement stores. You can get the whole house humidifiers professionally installed by a heating and cooling company.

Try common brushing with a sleeker brush. This will distribute the puppies usual frame oils in the course of the coat. Also utilizing a few Eucalyptus oil in a sprig bottle consisting of 1 cup of water for each and every 10 drops of oil will support eliminate the static electrical energy. It may even preserve fleas away and support them odor well. Do now not use material softener sheets although. There are only a few available on the market that declare to be riskless however don't seem to be validated.

For your laundry use a teaspoon of liquid fabric softner on a washcloth when you put things in the dryer. That will cut down on the static in your clothes which is the #1 source of the charge. Next use it when you wash rugs. Take showers - not baths and boil a pan of water once in a while to add moisture to the air. (Make a cup of tea or something) If this doesn't work get a humidifier to add moisture.

Add humidity to the house. Right now with the spring winds, it will still be dry outside, but you can fight it inside. A touch of conditioner on the hair helps. Not over drying you clothes in the dryer eliminates static. Avoid fabrics that hold static.

Humidity helps but I finally bought a can of static guard. I have to spray my car at least once a week or it gets me every time. The shelves in the grocery does the same thing.

i think it is just a winter thing . i get it here in so fla. during the winter time. u slide across ur car seat and it causes friction which i think stays with u because after the car door has shocked me, then when i open then store door, i get it again. I have to use my long shirt or sweater sleeve to wrap on my hand to not get shocked. Gloves would probably work too it just doesn't get quite that cold down here that often.
good luck

It comes from running the heater. It's worse in certain types of fabrics (like flannel). You can try dryer sheets, just wipe everything down with it. I had to get an ionic blowdryer for my hair because nothing else was working on it... good luck!

Fill a spray bottle with a half and half mix of water and DOWNEY fabric softener. Spray everything. It will smell good AND be less shocking.
Some people say dryer sheets do the trick, too.

Try a humidifier, the best kind is one that you have installed
directly to your furnace, not the room kind. It will make
things much better. Call your furnace company and ask them
about it. We paid about 400 bucks here in KY for ours.

You need to get a humidifier, it's the only thing that worked for me! I got mine at HOme Depot for $60-$70. Get a warm steam one though--it doesn't mold.
