The world's biggest hole is located in Russia.
The giant hole is actually a diamond mine in Eastern Siberia near the town Mirna. It is 525 meters deep
(1,722.440 944 882 feet) and 1.25 km ( 0.776 713 99 miles in diameter.) / 1205 metres wide, and 525 metres deep

The suction above the hole resulted in several helicopter crashes, so all flight above the hole is prohibited now.

If you're referring to a man-made hold, then the biggest is the Bingham Canyon mine in Utah (link 1 and 2). It is about 4 km across and about 500 m deep, which works out to a volume of 2 billion cubic meters of displaced rock. In that mine's case, though, it's actually more because what is now a hole used to be a mountain! And it is still getting bigger. That's copper for you.

A good runner-up would be the Mirny diamond mind in eastern Siberia (link 3). It is 1200 m wide and 500 m deep (a 'mere' 188 million cubic meters of rock). It is so big that aircraft had to be diverted around it because air currents would suck them down into the mine. Yikes!

Of course, nature does better even than that. There are those who argue that the entire Pacific Ocean represents a chunk of Earth that was blown away in a very early collision... perhaps with or resulting in the Moon.

The biggest hole in the earth I saw personally has to be the meteor crater in Arizona. It is big enough to hold 1 million people on the sides watching 100 football games simultaneously.

There is one that covers 63.8 million square miles, located around S 20˚, W 175˚. It's about 10,000 miles by 8,000 miles, and about 7 miles deep at the deepest in the northwest corner. It's full of water right now.
