Piranha have impressively sharp teeth, but there are many others that have bigger and scarier teeth than the piranhas, one called the cacharros(means *****) has teeth that would put a vampire to shame. Also see Hydrolycus (Water wolf) scomberoides, Acestroryynchus sp.falcatus, falcirostris, and grandocullis. And it is safe to swim with Piranha most of the time, however avoid the ones that are trapped in the back-water Lagos. I've swum in the Amazon,Rio *****,Xhingu,Rio Branco, and several other rivers containing Piranha, and have yet to be bitten.

Most all fish have teeth, just very few of them can hurt you. I'll assume you mean pirahna the very well known and wrongly known terror of the amazon.

Natives in the area swim and bath in the piranhas native waters daily and don't fear the fish at all. Attacks on humans are very, very rare.

Yeah, piranhas have nice teeth. The better to bite you with my dear. Sure, you can go swimming with them. Maybe there will only be a few and they won't eat much.

I believe you're asking about piranhas (all fish have some kind of teeth, but the piranha is the best known from the Amazon), and yes you can, depending upon the species. http://www.seaworld.org/animal-info/animal-bytes/animalia/eumetazoa/coelomates/deuterostomes/chordata/craniata/osteichthyes/characiformes/piranhas.htm

The viciousness of piranhas is highly overrated when they have enough food recources in their environment (and by Hollywood directors who don't know any better!).
