The only difference between the Black experience and everyone else's is that Blacks can't seem to get over it.
It's time to stop living in your miserable past and work toward a brighter future, people.
And don't forget, it was Black people who enslaved Blacks, but it was White people who set them free.

Heck yeah!!!!! I am an educated black woman and live in the south. When I am out shopping or driving around in a "nice" neighborhood, I can feel a weight on me as well as see the "What the h%ll are you doing here?" looks from some people. Slavery is the most inhumane thing people can do to each other. It wan't just the free laboring and the beatings, it was the laws and methods whites used to further disenfranchise us and keep us in a bad spot (like deliberately separating and mixing the Africans according to tribe so that they could not speak to each other to plan a revolt. The people in Africa were not trolling the globe trying to find riches and taking advantage of people. We were minding our own business. We did nothing to deserve the treatment we recieved ans are still getting. Racism hasn't gone anywhere. White people complain about things like BET!! That is one channel. I see more Spanish stations and when I flip through the TV at ANY time, 90% of the faces I see are still white. I have gone on MANY a job interview and I have yet to be interviewed by a person of my color. EVERYONE I have to impress is white to get the job. And some want to deny that they have a privilege!!! There are shiftless and sorry people of EVERY race, and I am tired of people saying that the only reason blacks don't get ahead is because we are lazy or trying to scheme people. There is a LOT of behind the scenes business going on. If things were reversed and black people clearly ran this country, whites would feel the discomfort we have to feel each day. I am expected to adjust my hair, my speech and my mannerisms to get a precarious spot in "corporate America"..not to mention the deliberate infection of smallpox done to the Native Americans by whites. Can people of color get a littkle credit for the alphabet, Pyramids and biblical presence??? NO!!! If we are all just honest for a second we would have to admit that whites have done some pretty crappy things with no provocation. But WE'RE the ones considered evil!!!!!!!!!!!!!

African Americans dont have a reason to complain anymore. Their ancestors were persecuted not this generation. There's been slavery and oppresion from the beging of history. Im not saying it's OK but it's a fact of life. But think about this, if it werent for slavery African Americans would still be in Africa. However, Native Americans are the worst off. We took their land and are still opresing them today.

I'm glad you mentioned Native Americans. You know, the people our Government killed for the land. I don't recall any African Americans being murdered for their land. Can an Indian get a Government job because of his red skin? Give the Indians their land back and they're happy. How many African Americans want to return to their home land? How about Affirmative Action for Indians? I say yes.

People all over the world know how bad the black have been treated here in America. No one wants to say anything as long as it,s not them. Someone above me said that they should get over it that will never happen because they are being abused to this very day. Do you really think that black people commit more crimes than any other race.Do you think all those black men are in jail for a reason. Are black women the only ones on Well Fare, Are black women the only race who are having baby's out of wedlock. If you believe any of this then you are misinformed . I have been in business all my life and I see how whites help each other get ahead in the business world. There are a lot more qualified black people out here than whites want you to know about and this is a fact. You have a white person with no talent in sales and another white person will make him a manager and every black person knows that the person is not qualified . If white people had to compete on a level playing field the score would be a lot different. The one thing that black people have forgotten is you have to be twice as good as whites not sa good black people use to know this I don,t know what happen it,s not enough just to go to school and get educated because there is nothing worse than and educated fool use common sense black people white people will never be your ttrue friend. Here is a little test if you have been around a white person you considered your friend for over a year I bet you money that they have used the N word in your presence and you asked your self why did they say that wake up black men

Yes, African Americans have been through alot and still going through it. It seems like an unending cycle. Many did not ask to come here in the first place. They were slaves. So those who hate Black Americans, be mad at your ancestors (the slave masters).

Yes, they have been thru alot. But that was a different generation. The people of this century have not had to go thru the same ordeals. We need to move on and live our lives in the present not the past. It is good to have the history and to learn from it but not to dwell on it. Enough is Enough!!!!

its easy for you people that are answering this question to say, forget about it, this time to move on, it was in the past, but to know how people in my family where treated and sold like they were nothing and to know that most of the people on here were raised by the people that were doing the buying and enslaving does not sit well with me. its easy to sweep it under the rug and forget about it but its harder to face it. its all in the blood line.
