I myself have been in this situation. My best friend moved to America (I live in Australia) when we were in grade 7. We had been best friends since we were 3. It is difficult at first as we feel a loss and that a part of us is missing after they have moved. All I can say is keep in touch by email, msn, yahoo messenger, text msg, phone call or even good old snail mail. My best friend and I lost touch there for a while and it was the saddest time of my life, I think it was for about 7 years because she moved and forgot to give me her new address and back then the internet wasn't something very accessible because I lived in the bush. I finally found her on Myspace a couple of months ago. So yes its going to be hard her moving away, but please don't prevent her from moving it will just make it harder on the both of you. Remember to keep in touch and also remember that your other friends will be there for you when you need to talk to someone and just simply hang out.

I know that has to really hurt. There's nothing you can do to stop the way you feel. Just make plans to keep in touch through IM, e-mails, and snailmail, and occasional phone calls.
