not all 18 yr. old boys are the same.but the ones that do have a chip on there shoulder have it because they are disgruntled, unhappy, dissatisfied, illtempered, testy, quarrelsome, irritable, angry, displeased about something in there life.sound like they are having a hard time communicate
and are frustrated with something or having trust issues and don't know what to do.maybe jealous and impatient too.

It's never a wise thing to do ... to assume that all boys/people are the same, because of a few boys/people's actions. My eldest son is great ... listens to reason, is extremely respectful of his elders etc ... whereas, my youngest son is not.
I think a lot of teenagers have that "chip" ... they're at the age where they know everything and they're indestructible. They find out, later in life ... that they, in fact, are not indestructible nor smarter than the rest of us. :)

first of all, i'm sorry about the shortcoming of your husband, it really is not problem-free elevating little ones on your own. What became the wrestle about? undergo in ideas, you're her be sure, no longer her chum. If she's disillusioned with you because you reported some rule that she became breaking--then it really is too undesirable, so unhappy for her. do not enable her being disillusioned with you reason you to bend the guidelines for her. the guidelines of your position exist with a view to guard your little ones. If she doesn't like the guidelines, then at the same time as she turns 18, she will be in a position to move out--for sure without your monetary options. Take it from me, mom of a 17 twelve months old daughter--this too shall bypass. yet do not you DARE enable her being mad at you reason you to lower go into reverse out of your stand on loved ones guidelines. in case you've been incorrect, then say sorry on your section in the wrestle, yet never, EVER say sorry for making your little ones keep on with the guidelines. I always tell myself, if my little ones are mad at me, it would want to propose i'm doing something proper. also, tell your self many times "i'm no longer my daughter's chum, i'm her mom." sturdy good fortune to you and your daughter

Probably because they're 18 and they still get called boys. In my country we call french fries chips and we call chips crisps.
