2x^2 = 5x ... subtract 5x from both sides
2x^2 - 5x = 0 ... factor out an x
x (2x - 5) = 0 ... you have two possible zeros

one:

x = 0

two:

2x - 5 = 0 ... solve for x

x = 5/2

Put all the x terms on the left, then factor out an x.

2x^2 - 5x = 0
x(2x-5)=0
x = 0
2x - 5 = 0
2x = 5
x = 5/2
