I don't think so. I think its almost worse to let them suffer. If they can be sedated until the problem is solved then thats one thing, but to have a terminal illness that forces someone to live in pain day in and day out.... I've told the people I love if I ever become a burden and can no longer support myself, let me go.

Well, I would think it would depend on the method that you used. If it was a quick and painless killing, at the request of the person then I believe it would be ethical. However, I know it would be against most laws, if not all of them.

legally speaking.. no you cannot kill anyone. ethically doctors, nurses, and anyone else in the medical field should not kill anyone because they are supposed to fight to save your lives. this is a good question. we know right from wrong. i know if i was in constant pain and dying, i would want some one to put me out of my misery. i would not want to see loved ones suffer but i know i could not have the strength to put them out of their misery. of course the government has butt their nose into this and said it was illegal. i honestly think that if you are of sound mind, then if you find someone to do it, go for it. no one likes to suffer needlessly.

i have a friend whose grandfather was dying of stomach cancer. Morphine wouldn't help, so what he did was leave a loaded gun on the night-table, where his grandad could reach it. Yes, he did it himself. My friend still sleeps at night, but his youngest kid drowned 2 months after his grandad shot himself, and i can't help thinking it's karma to some extent. The little boy didn't die, but i wouldn't really mind if it was ethical or not, rather than be afraid it would come back at me in other way, so i at least, wouldn't do it.

In the eyes of the law it would, but not in the eyes of somebody who truly deeply loved and cared for that person ............ I'd probably have a hard time doing it though, only because I wouldn't want to say goodbye.............:0)
PEACE & LIGHT 2 U
**** EDIT******
I don't believe it to be unethical, you know wot the answer is deep in your heart ................ only you can really make this decision .................... just remember that's its not your fault that they are suffering, jus squeeze every last little bit of joy jus being with them that you can ...............:0)

Really yes because you're not the one to decide when that person dies, no matter how sorry you feel for them. Let the Lord handle it, as he knows the right time and what he's doing.
Again, you must let nature take it's course. It's like destroying the forest just because the President said so.

sometimes those who are under a lot of stress/pain have impaired judgment. all they can think of at the time of pain is dying. think when you are at your roughest moment in life, didnt you feel like giving up too? but you didn't obviously because you're still here. sometimes people just need a little hope to get by..and when they lose all hope, they want to give up the fight.

That question is indeed a hard one....but if a person was suffering and dying then to relieve one of their pain seems only humane to me
