I have so many it's ridiculous. I have over 6 albums full of pictures that I've taken of her since she was born. She's only 2! Not to mention all the professional portriats of her. I don't know what to do with them. By over 6 albums full I mean have 6 albums full and so many more they don't fit in the albums. I feel ridiculous buying more and more albums because I need to buy so many. What should I do? And what about her portriats, I have so many on my walls already she covers my entire home and I'm having a boy in a few weeks. What do you reccomend that I do?

I guess you'll have to buy some more albums, and make some room on the walls! Congrats! You're lucky you can afford to have that many pictures of her. I have lots of rolls of film for my daughter, and no money to develop them ( LOL old school film, not even digital!)

Would you consider keeping your photographs (at least most of them) digitally? I started out the same way you have, but by the time my daughter was 9 months old, I could see where this was going, so I no longer have every single photo developed. I develop my very favorites, and have the rest put on cd. I have several cd's (that I keep in our family fire-proof safe) instead of several photo albums. Maybe you could "control" how many photos you have by keeping a cute "brag book" size photo album, the 24 photo size, of each child, that you can update every few months. I don't think you should have to stop taking photos, my photos are precious to me and I love going over them & seeing what we were up to & how our daughter has changed, etc. but you don't have to have all those photos at one time. If you just get the cd's, they take up much less space, you can see every photo on the disc on the little sheets that come with them, and you can develop just a few. Hope this helps~ Congrats on your little boy, I'm having a boy in August... :)
*I like that answer about giving them to family, you could do the brag books, then when it's time to put new photos in the brag books, it's time to send the old ones to family/friends...

You can get those picture boxes and chronologically organize them. I have a ton of my 2 year old too and those boxes fit sooooo many, much more than albums. Just leave the best ones in the albums and put the rest in the boxes. The good thing about the boxes is that they are nice looking, have labels and you can stack them so they look organized and nice. As far as the framed stuff, not sure. You may have to rearrange them and go more vertically to make room for the ones you'll have of baby and the two of them. Good luck!

You are making me laugh! I have a ton of photos, too. I have been a photo queen for about 10 years or maybe 15. I have boxes and boxes and boxes full of them.

I have some in storage, and some in the garage, and some on two bookshelves in my living room. I think it's great!

A friend of mine said that she will only keep one photo box and one photo album per year, and throw out the rest. I can't do that! But, that is a good suggestion.

I wish my parents had taken more photos of us. I don't even have any baby pictures. They lost them. So, if anything, at least your kids will have lots of pictures!

I recommend putting time and space between you and the albums. When I did my firstborn's first album, I was so emotionally attached to every single photo, that I deemed EVERY photo worthy of going into the album. Now, I scrapbook from a year or two prior - it puts it in perspective which photos are worthy of printing/displaying and which are good pictures, but not THAT good.

i would suggest weeding out your favorites, and maybe giving some of your framed portraits to family members, as gifts, or just because. also (especially if you still have negatives), you could go to a photo center with a scanner and scan in your photos and save them to CD. if you have negatives, the photo tech can do this, and it is so easy, and you can get rid of some of your photos without actually losing anything. and with a new baby, i would seriously suggest investing in a digital camera.

you can glue a bunch to construction paper like a collage, and then have them laminated at kinkos and used for placemats.

give some to relatives and put some in a fire proof place, just in case so you will always have some.
