Let me see if I can figure this out:

Hospital copays - $1500
Bassinet, crib, changing table $1000
Carseat $100
Stroller $300
Swing $75
Highchair $100
Doctor's appts and medication $500
Clothing, toys, books, etc $1000
Diapers ($20/week for 52 weeks) $1040
Bottles, sippy cups, baby food $250
Daycare for 8 months $6800

So, around $12,665.

Now, you can cut down on expenses by buying a used crib, stroller, etc. I almost always buy her clothes and toys used already. I breastfed, so I didn't need formula, which is pretty expensive. She was sick a lot, so we had to go to the doctor a lot, that's why her medical expenses were so high.

It is impossible to know how much a child will cost
for ex: if you are lucky and the child is born healthy
it certainly will cost less
also daycare is price different in every state as well as the price goes up yearly
milk price is up what if you have a child that is lactee intorlarante than you will have to buy special milk
I can go onon onoon

the best way to prepare yourself is to know that you will have a lot of suprises, joys & you will also have moment when you ask yourself God please help me
Just ask God to give you a lot of strenght & comprehension to deal with everyday and ask that he/she teach you patient
Goodluck

There is no defiant answer to this question. It is all depending on how much you want to spend. If you want all new things then the cost is higher or if you buy used goods you will save some money. The cost of formula and diapers is going to depend on were you live and if you are going to breastfeed.
The cost of having a child and after care is going to depend on if you have insurance and if they cover you and your new child. If you go to babycenter.com they have a calculator on how much it will cost to raise a child.

Best wishes and Baby Dust.
