So today I went to the bathroom and pulled down my pants so I could pee. But before I sat down I noticed something that looked like a string hanging between my legs. So I pulled it out and it was disgusting. It felt like mucus. It was like snot except it didn't come from my nose. I've seen stuff like this on my underwear before, but I've never actually touched it. What is this stuff? It was pretty nasty.

its just discharge and it changes throughout the month of your menstrual cycle, it often is what happens leading to your period

That stuff is vaginal discharge. It is normal to have discharge from your vagina. Because of the color and consistency of it it is possible that your period could be on its way.
