Its all about your thinking. Firstly Being happy and content is the normal way in life. Bad things happening is not the norm and not something you should expect.

Secondly you need to use more positive thinking. By believing something bad will happen inevitably it will and you will use the bad experience to justify it all.- I knew that this would happen etc.

Just think positively and break the cycle. You can do it if you try.

All human life is equal. There is no real method to measure it because there is no basis for comparison. Like I said, it's equal. I think purpose gives an individual a sense of self-worth and a reason to strive for a better life, but it doesn't change the value of the life itself. Life is to live. Purpose is the have a goal for which you strive. Happiness is an emotion. (cop-out, I know, but I can't think of anything better) Both the successful business man and the young child are important. The business man contributes more to his society, so he seems more important to many. The child dies within his society, but the people do not mourn him less than the old man, and his death can awaken someone to the trouble his people face. The child was likely missed more than the man because of the tragedy of the situation and because he had no chance to make enemies, so in that way he seems more important. I don't believe in Heaven and Hell or any equivalent. But I have no proof that they don't exist. Instead of making claims I cannot possibly back up, I call myself an agnostic. Maybe there is a God, and maybe there is not. Some people need religion to help them, and some people don't. There isn't a right or wrong answer here. You should tell your friend that this is repetitive in some parts. It's fascinating and really makes you think, but it would have even greater impact if he cleaned it up.

As an architect I constanly assist in the transformation of mental creations, based on an understnding of material properties, into concrete, material objects, a creative and constructive manipulation of materials into representations of ideas. In this sense, and in the more ordinary sense, such as boiling water for cofee, itself derived from technology, matter is utilised by the body through mind.

Positve thinking is probably just a way of refusing not to find a solution to a problem, and keep the spirits up so as to recognise possible solutions, assisting the creative process which is needed to figure out an answer.

If pure mental projection could alter matter, then I haven't found conclusive evidence for it, although the interaction or relationship between consciousness and matter is still a mystery, which allow for strange possibilities. Until we develop a proper understanding of this relationship and the possibilities inherent in it we can only speculate as to what can be.

When considering what may happen tomorrow ,or at any time in the future, it is worth recognising that what we think might happen will actually have no impact on what happens. It might, however, be worth considering whether the things that do go wrong are the result of your own attitudes and actions. If you realise that your attitude leads you take a less positive approach, it could be this is what then leads to things going wrong. If the things that go wrong have no connection with your own actions then thinking positive thoughts may not be the answer.

Being positive is the only way to keep from losing your marbles and mind over matter has worked for me, in a different since. I hobbled two miles on a broken leg, telling myself the entire time it wasn't broken. Thankfully I made it.
Stay positive

It's not so much that you can influence events, just that you look at them in a different way. You concentrate on the positive aspects and in that way nothing 'goes wrong', just some things go better than others. Yes it works, but you have to put some effort in to change your ways of thinking.

Sure you should always have positive thoughts and affirmations. Just remember that the world is not a level playing ground, and **** just happens sometimes. Hope for the best, but don't expect perfection. Be prepared and you should do rather well. Good luck to you.

Yes, in a different sense. I use mind over matter when it comes to my body. I tell myself that I know its there and that the pain can go away now. Essentially your body sends signals to your brain that something is hurting so that you know that something is wrong. I tell myself that I already know this so it will quit hurting.

that makes me seem a little weird I know, but i do it and it works usually with a headache or something.

i think that mind over matter works.. if u constantly spend the times when things go right for you worrying about what will go wrong next, your not enjoying the good times in ur life. I think that u need to realise that everyone deserves some good times in life, and that good times dont automatically have to be followed by bad. so next time u sense that something is going to go wrong, make ur mind tell urself to stop worrying!
