I've been getting the small bumps in my vaginal area and they were of concern to me so i went to the doctor and she said that it didnt look like herpes & thought it was an ingrown hair, but she did a test to make sure ,Im waiting for the results and am worried.
from the last time i went to see the dr. another "bump" has appeared and the other one gone.
there is no puss or anything to "pop" they are just bumps that kinda irritate me down there. they are usually around the clitoris.and just recently i got a cold sore in my mouth, so now i am really scared!
Ive only been with 2 people my whole life, one of whom i am still with and have been for the past 6 years.
could this be herpes? Ive been looking all over the net as to what it could be.
is herpes only spread through sex?
can you help me....im scared. :(

It could very well be an ingrown hair. I've had a few of those. A couple of other thoughts are that they could be a pimple, or part of the hair follicle.
If you still aren't sure about what your dr has said then I would recommend getting another opinion preferably from a dr that is not in the same office of the dr that you currently see.

Without seeing the bumps, it is difficult to say what it is. There is a chance that it could be herpes, but please do not worry.

Having genital herpes does not mean you are easy or have been sleeping around. Your partner may have passed facial herpes on to you, and he could have picked it up very innocently.

Don't worry Ive experienced similar and it really does sound like ingrown hairs or else you would be complaining of a lot more pain than and it would not just go away so simply. cold sores are quite common and notice how they never go away peacefully. you can try to keep the ingrowns down by running something flat and thin like a credit card upwards to lift the emerging hairs up and away from the skin. oh yeah oral herpes with out sex easy: the other not so easy

it could be herpes but sounds more like irritation bumps to me. herpes usually show up in clusters and they have been know to have a burning sensation and usually last a few days between break outs. yes herpes is spread through sex - you cant get it any other way.
if it were I, i think i would try to use a little baby powder to dry up any moisture you may have and see if the bumps go away. if so then chances are it isn't herpes.
