There have always been lobbyists and probably always will be.

I don't mind someone advocating for an issue. But like in private society, we need ethical and honorable representatives who vote for the good of the country rather than at the expense of it. I want a representative who can listen to the lobby and still make an independent judgement. I don't fault the lobbyist for flashing the cash. The problem is the government official who accepts the cash and then acts against the best interest of his constituents.

You cannot declare lobbiest's as illegal as they have rights guarantees just like we do, however, the prioritization of concerns is the problem. You know I think that lobbiests are only a problem because they are the only ones using their freedom to express their beliefs and that is what makes our system work. Now if people would lobby for the things we are losing which would provide balance and fairness and equitability and bring our government back to a state of normalcy. I cannot place blame too much on lobbiest, they are participating in our government like we should. If we are not participating then we get what we put into it.

I really think it is simpler, we eliminate CONGRESS, once a year we get a ballot assuming we have paid our taxes and are citizens, it has a single line item that we vote yes or no on, pretty soon the country would be in good shape because you are going to get sick of seeing a 4,000 page ballot once a year.

If the minority would like to be heard how else can they do it. Without a lobbyist their speech would be silents.

The first amendment protects that.

Cause freedom of speech exists.

The system sucks as it is; every effort to reform thus far has increased the suckiness factor.

Soon you can learn the new pledge
