Are you good with your hands? Whittle something...I've a friend who always has a small pocket knife and a piece of wood. He makes really cool celtic knots and actual interlocking chains. Origami is a cool conversation starter with people. Use small pieces of paper or dollar bills. Drawing in a small sketchbook...cell phone photography...writing short stories or song lyrics in a pocket notebook...slight of hand magic...

It sounds like cross-stitching would be perfect for you (if you're a girl, although some guys do it too). There are small projects that you can take anywhere with you in a baggie or some small purse. There are so many patterns to choose from and it is therapeutic and versatile, many beautiful things a person could make. You can also find free charts online. Good luck, I hope you find something you enjoy.

Why does it have to require no skill? Do you have a disability that makes it impossible for you to learn? It's fun to try new things and get better at them.

I have a friend who does rock and gem hunting in his spare time, so when he's stuck in the car or after a test (or in his case a meeting because he's a grownup) he carries a few of the gems he's found and studies them when he's bored.

How about learning a language that is foreign to you.....like English? Maybe instead of tying knots you and your simple minded friend can do a little more 'book learnin'. If that is not your cup of tea, may I suggest a hobby such as picking up cigarette butts off of the sidewalk.

how about being a creep by starring at random girls, give them a creepy stare and don't say a word, I'm pretty sure you can make a hobby out of that!
