Stephen Hawking once suggested that the absence of tourists from the future constitutes an argument against the existence of time travel—a variant of the Fermi paradox. Of course this would not show time travel is physically impossible, only that it is never in fact developed; and even if it is developed, Hawking notes elsewhere that time travel may only be possible in a region of spacetime that is warped in the right way, and that if we cannot create such a region until the future, then time travelers would not be able to travel back before that date, so 'This picture would explain why we haven't been over run by tourists from the future.'

well time machines for time travel will never happen. If you think about it a machine that keeps time could be defined as a time machine meaning that devices such as a clock or a watch. so it really depends on what your definition of a time machine is on weather they are real or not.

I think if we all had time machines it would be somewhat good because we could fix some of the things that we messed up on and we could save somebodys life to make things right again then it could be bad because we could really uncover some of the truth and it hurts sometimes.

It might be possible to travel into the future, by traveling close to the speed of light (186,282mi/s)(man has only attained a speed of about 5mi/s). Time would slow down for someone who did approach the speed of light, while the rest of the world would continue at it's normal pace. It would be a one way trip, no going back in time.

It defies the laws of physics. Matter cannot be created or destroyed, it can only change forms.
It would be interesting to take a glimpse into the future.
