I took a train to New York from VA. I booked at the Holiday Inn Friday night and had one small bed in a tiny studio without much of a view in Manhatten and the room for one night was a whopping $350! When we drove to New York another time and stayed around the same area on a weekday. I had a more spacious room with 2 beds at a decent 3 star hotel and I only paid $115 a night! We even had valet parking but it came with a small price. Be careful where you park make sure you understand the parking regulations.

The difference is these prices was that weekdays are cheaper and weekends are off the wall expensive. Although I went during the fall, I am not sure how summer rates will be.

Check out Hotels.com you might find some good deals.

Almost all of the hotels in NY(manhattan) have parking. Try looking on websites like Orbitz.com Expedia.com they should find cheap hotels. If you want to go to a Yankees game buy tickets in advance. When you are going to go see Time Square go like 5 so you can see it at night. If you are not going to stay in Manhattan, use the subway YOU WILL NEVER FIND CHEAP PARIKING. it will be very expensive. You can either take a cab or bus or train and get anywhere (just for a map in the subway station) Have fun---visit Coney Island its awesom(its in brooklyn)
