My goldfish is like 3 or 4 years old and he is like 8 inches long. Will he get any bigger? Also, can you tell if it is a male or female? Is the male bigger? Thanks.

Feeders are common comets and they can get as large as 36". Not all do , depending on breeding.

It is difficult to say if he will get bigger. Goldfish can continue to grow thru out their lives or until the size requirement is met.

This is also true for tank gold fish. Stunting will inhibit some growth, but th fish keeps growing none the less.

In a pond with quality oxygen and room, your fish can easily reach the 32-36 inch mark. Age means nothing to commons. There is an average for each breed but they are all carp with the ability to get very large, even the small breeds.

You can sex your fish by looking at the vent. Concave it is a male convex is a female. Most comits that are male have longer fins than females however if you have nothing to compair this to, use the first discription. Males are usually longer and leaner than the females.

Yes your fish will get bigger.

Feeder goldfish are usually common goldfish which in the wild can get very large indeed. The largest typically encountered in a tank though is about 1-1.5 feet. This would require a very large tank to house the fish, anything less will result in stunting and damage to the fish over the long term.

A small tank leads to stunted growth which in turn shortens their life. "Feeder" fish are just cheap comets that are sold as feeders for oscars and other larger species. They can easily grow to a foot or more depending on their environment.
