I vote on the issues anyway. All of the right wingers here on Yahoo are just hating people like the South hates Yankees. I'm pretty sure that's where the problem is coming from anyway.

Republicans and Democrats can get along! Take my family for instance. My Dad is a Republican, my Mom is a Democrat. They have been happily married for almost 40 years! I grew into a Republican, my sister grew into a Democrat, and she is my best friend! My husband is a Republican, her husband is a Democrat, and they have become great friends too!
It is about respect. Respect the views of others. That is all it takes. You don't have to agree to have respect for other peoples' views.

It's not about party. It's about ideology: left-wing liberalism versus right-wing conservatism. There is nothing I support from the right.
I'm a liberal because the history of this country shows America is a liberal country that only keeps getting more liberal with every generation. Each generation from the beginning of the Revolutionary War had its own controversies. In each generation, there was a left versus right spectrum on these kinds of issues. Over the long haul, the left has kept on winning. The trend in America and the rest of western civilized world is towards:
- expanding rights to more and more minority groups
- expanding social freedoms for all Americans
- expanding government regulation of big business and social programs in an effort to protect the consumer, citizen, worker, and the environment from corporate abuse / aristocracy.

i think of over the years the two events have moved extra and extra aside. At this factor that's annoying for them to agree on something. I wish term limits have been in place, so cutting-edge politicians does not spend their time nerve-racking approximately getting re-elected and basically artwork on the corporation of the human beings.

I'm actually kind of happy that they continually hate each other, especially with the governmental gridlock the way it is. Their continual mudslinging leaves them that much less time to mess up our private affairs. Which is how it's supposed to be. Really, both sides are so crazy now that if they were to ever reach an accord, the world really would come to an end. Literally.

I tend to be a fence sitter myself, because I think that both sides have a lot of inconsistency. (For example, I'm opposed to both abortion AND capital punishment, so neither party fully accommodates me on those beliefs) And yes, I wish they could get along too. I fear that all of the infighting and inability to work together is rapidly leading to the undoing of our country. Enjoy your freedom while you have it....I think it's on its way out.

It is impossible because the far liberal wing of the Democratic party cannot get along with anyone. They live in their own imaginary world of fantasy and cannot realte to even basic reality.

I really can't think of anything on the left that I like. They have become true socialists in every stance, and I just wish they would evaporate into the dustbin of failed ideologies.

If we could cleave off the far left and far right I think I could live with a mixture of the remaining views.
