Asante Samuel is holding out on the Pats and says that he is unhappy and wants to be traded. He had a great season last year but I dont think Asante Samuel deserves the contract that he thinks he deserves. It sounds like he wants a nate clements like contract and I dont think that hes even remotely that talented. What do you think, should he get paid or get traded?

He will have no choice as the franchise player...He's with the Pats for a year...He can sit out, I guess...but then he won't get paid this year...I really hope the Pats find a way to keep him...but he is a little out of line with the money...He just appeared out of nowhere last year...He should plan on playing just as well, so the Pats have proof that he's not a fluke...

Are we being serious! Asante Samuel is worth more than just $30 mil. Lets look at the stats; 65 tackles, 10 Interceptions...We're talking about the cornerback that led the leauge in interceptions....Yeah..He had a good season; the football just landed into his hands 10 times.. Lets look at another corner. How about Mr. $80 Million? 76 tackles and 3 interceptions.. I;m not sure but the wrong person is getting $80 Millions...I seen this situation happen with Ty Law and Deion Branch...If New England knows what they're doing, i'll give Asante more than just 30 mil...And besides, he's 26 years old! He has a whole career ahead of him...If New England lets him go, it will just be another mistake...

For people on here that said Asante is just benefitting form a scheme, I want you to go to the NFL website and purchase the tape of the AFC champ. game. Now, watch Asante Samuel when the ball is in the air. There is only one corner in the league who has better closing speed, and his name is Champ Bailey. I know, he is being selfish, but he deserves to be paid well, and so does Champ.

I'll give you a name of a guy who benefits from a system, his name is Pacman Jones. He is good in the scheme, but you will not see him close on recievers like the two greats, Champ and Samuel. This suspension will kill him, the Titans will either pick up a guy in the draft or even trade for Samuel.

I'm sure samuel is a very good cornerback. But there is also a strong possibility that his stats are so good because of the defensive scheme he is in with the Patriots. Maybe samuel should play a few more years before he demands a huge contract. Besides, he's still making good money as a franchise player. I'd want to stay with a team that just played in the AFC title game and is looking like it is the front runner to win the superbowl (sadly again) this year. It is clear that Asante Samuel cares about money more than playing and winning. That's a shame.

inexpensive? Over 7 million this year is inexpensive? If Briggs didn't want to play for the Bears at the same time as he signed the settlement, honest sufficient. yet he has been there now and been paid for his time, that's in basic terms element of the settlement - the alternative to Franchise a participant. And to be uncomplicated, he has carried on like a spoilt newborn about it... "mom! Joey Porter in basic terms were given $8 million for next year! and they are having a celebration with a clown, balloons and a pinata!" honest dinkum...if he had performed the right project this year there is each probability he ought to have were given the sturdy funds next year, yet because it really is, there's some communities waiting to make certain how that's gonna coach.

No. He is a system CB that had a nice season last year because of the Patriots scheme. He has not yet proven himself to be one of the elite defensive players which is how he wants to be paid.

I don't think he does, but when I see the ways the teams dump on players reaching the end of their career, I no longer blame the players for going after every dollar they can.

Many teams need a Cornerback right now, so this is his year to be overpaid. I bet with Pacman out this year, the titans would pay him big money.

Yes he deserves more money but he should wait until his current contract is up to start demanding more. He signed it so he sould stick with it.
