This way, we get slave labor at a price we can afford.

Prostitution (assuming you "work" for an abusive pimp who would kill you if you tried to leave his pack of ho's)

I'm sure that there are "sex slaves" in various places around the world where young girls are kidnapped and forced to work in brothels. There may also be some slavery still going on amongst some ancient African tribes.

Generally speaking though (in the USA), there is no "modern day slavery". People can choose what jobs they will or will not perform, and for whom. If they choose not to work, they have the right to be homeless and starve. In short, no one who obeys the law is forced to labor for someone else.

Today there remains slavery in many parts of the world. There is even actual slaves retained against their will for various purposes in various countries. Some are used for dangerous and dirty work, others as sex slaves. In the US there are many women enslaved as prostitutes against their will.
