Call the owner, explain what happened and ask them what you should do with the remains. 15 year old dogs die, it happens. The owners will be upset but as long as you took care of the dog and it didn't die from neglect then there should be no hard feelings.

OHHH.... why does something terrible like that always seem to happen when the owners are away... well you should put a call in to them right away. Hopefully it was of natural causes, if not then UGH! I dunno.
